Why you need an up to date Fire Risk Assessment?

The Regulatory Reform (fire safety) Order 2005 came into effect on the 1st October 2006 across the UK.

One of the requirements of the order requires that almost all work places undertake a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment.

UK Fire regulations enforce the employer to act as the responsible person for the fire safety of your business.


If you employ five or more persons then your Fire Risk Assessment is required to be a written document which needs to identify and highlight a required action plan to reduce or remove the risk of fire.


This document then forms part of your ongoing reviews and fire risk strategy and should be updated and renewed annually or sooner if any significant changes take place to the building or use of the building.



Carrying out and documenting a fire risk assessment can be quite daunting especially if you have had no training in fire safety legislation.

Our Fire Risk Assessors will attend your premises and work with you to complete a comprehensive review of your current fire risks using a 9 step process recognised by the BSI to identify and recommend any actions required to reduce the risk along with severity and timescale.

Our Fire Risk Assessors have varied experience and qualifications, these can include recognised training completed at the Fire Service College, BAFESP205 and IFE Registered Assessors. We will select the right Assessor suitable with the best experience and qualification matched to your business requirements ensuring the risk is matched with correct level of competence.

All of our Assessors are able to carry out assessments in all types of premises to any size building(s).


Our risk assessment reports are provided in the BSI (British Standards Institute) PAS 79 format to ensure they provide the detail required to meet your requirements under the Fire Safety Order. FAST also holds professional indemnity insurance to provide you with that added peace of mind.

By choosing FAST to complete your Fire Risk Assessment, we will automatically reduce your renewal cost by up to 20% should you book your renewal fire risk assessment report within twelve months from your last report.


Ongoing support:

Once you receive your Fire Risk Assessment report and should you have any questions or wish to speak with the Assessor then FAST are always available to assist.
